Automatic is easiest when available, QR Code works well when installing from a second device, and Manual is the fallback for everything else. Before you start: Use Wi-Fi, not mobile data, while installing your eSIM. Make sure your device is unlocked and eSIM-compatible. iPhone Option 1: Automatic Installation - Recommended for Applications only. Fastest option - available on iOS 17.4+. Open the app and tap "Install eSIM now" on the Automatic tab. Trigger activation - your iPhone will ask to activate the eSIM. Tap Activate (this lets your iPhone share the required device info with your network provider). Proceed with activation - tap Continue on the "Activate eSIM" screen. Wait for the eSIM to install - this can take a few minutes. Keep the screen open. Choose eSIM for Data Only, keep you default SIM card for Voice Line Open the installed eSIM - go to Settings > Mobile Service and tap your new line (e.g. "Travel"). Make sure Data Roaming is ON - scroll down on that line's settings and switch Data Roaming on. Wait a few minutes before the eSIM connects to the network. Get your activation details - in the app, open the Manual tab to view your SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (tap Copy Details, or Continue to Settings to jump straight there). Go to Settings on your iPhone and tap Mobile Service. Add eSIM manually - tap Add eSIM. Start manual installation - tap Use QR Code on the "Set Up eSIM" screen, then Scan QR Code on the next screen. Open eSIM settings - tap Mobile network > SIM & eSIM settings (naming may vary slightly by device). Add eSIM manually - tap Add eSIM. Start manual installation - tap Set up eSIM (not "transfer from another phone"). Wait while your device checks network information - a quick automatic step. Switch to manual entry - on the QR-scanning screen, tap Enter activation code instead of scanning. Enter your activation details - paste (don't retype) the activation code from Step 1, then continue. Start eSIM activation - tap Set Up. Wait for the eSIM to install - "Setting up eSIM…" Go to Settings to finish. Turn on the eSIM in SIM & eSIM settings, then tap the row.
